Being able to make this trip for BKK is a blessing I have to say. & this time round, my mom had a wild time in BKK after two decades of avoidance of the hot spring heats in Thailand. Though my mom repeatedly told me that the next holiday destination got to be somewhere chilly and comfy, I know she will enjoy this trip this time round and I will tell you why. (◕‿-)
Travel with comfort & convenience
Jean managed to take time off to bring us around the city by car which couldn't have been more perfect than combating BTS rides with other commuters and the heat all year round in BKK. My mom looooves to embrace the cold and on the contrary being such tropical girl myself would actually rather stay in the heat. Hence, being able to travel in comfort and with a working a/c in a car is a blessing for my mom~
With that, we even manage to make it to a weekday floating market (Don Wai) 80km off BKK, it is my first floating market visit and it did not disappoint! This market was introduced by Jean and it sells plenty of local products and food as well. It is not as touristy as the rest of the floating markets and is definitely worth the visit.

After walking around for an hour or so, we decided to try their famous braised duck rice/noodles in the market. The meat is tender and well comparable to the ones we had in S'pore..But the price and the portion is non-comparable because it only costs us 10 SGD for the spread and the drinks. I am in heaven. We traveled 40 mins back to BKK and made it to Asiatique which is also my first time there, though the area there is heavily commercialised and promoted, the sunset there is spectacular and I managed to capture a few shots for Jean.

The next day we made our way to Wat Pho, where the largest sleeping buddha lies. I have never been religious for the past few years however stepping into this holy ground brought peace and serenity to my soul. I gave my offerings and burn joss sticks in respect to the holy buddhas that stood before me.

Exhausted after touring around the majestic temple, we decided to take a tuktuk to the riverside for dinner where we also got the spectacular view of temple of dawn.
We ended the trip the next day visiting Platinum fashion mall with our last minute shopping spree. Jean has done an excellent hosting and couldn't be more than perfect of a traveling buddy as we sing our hearts out to songs in car that we knew by heart! My mom enjoyed her time in BKK too and we will definitely keep those precious memories deep in our hearts. (⌒_⌒)
